The Vital Hive is not just a community; it is a remembering.

A returning to the truth that we are, and have always been, children of Mother Earth. In a world that has pulled us away from this knowing, we seek to reawaken it—not as an abstract idea, but as a lived experience.

Rooted in Place, Remembering our Kinship

“One definition of being indigenous is to be of a place. While we have family from across the country, The Vital Hive is a community rooted in West Michigan—held by its rivers, forests, and the turning of its seasons. Many of us have felt spiritually or culturally orphaned, but we are finding our way home—not by seeking something new, but by returning to what has always been here. The rhythms of Mother Earth are where we all began. The roots and the rocks, the plants and the dirt have much to teach us.

We gather in song, tend the land with our hands and hearts, and walk alongside one another through one-on-one support and care. In community, we remember how to listen—to the Earth, to our ancestors, and to the wisdom living within us. The offerings below are invitations to connect more deeply with the work and relationships we are growing together.
